2019, a year to remember

It is really hard to predict the year ahead, and of course we have many expectations and also a lot of goals to push us forward to a better and more challenging year. But to know if it will be a good one? Impossible.

When 2018 started, for example, I was sure it would be a really good year because it will start with traveling to Canada, my first international travel. Well, and not that it wasn’t a good year, far from that, but it was a hard year, the hardest I’ve ever had. So when the year changed and we started 2019 I decided that I would have less expectations. After all we had a moving in our way, to a new and unknown place so I needed to be prepared to anything.

Obviously that my practical side and the emotional one don’t go along. I kept having expectations and imagining a world that is far to be reached.

But, even with the small bumps in the road, 2019 is a memorable year: it is the year I accomplished my biggest dream and many small ones.

The french is still not good? We will work on that in 2020. Making friends is harder than I anticipated? Maybe a time and effort will fix it.

Nothing, nothing can overcome the lightness of living without being afraid all the time. To be able to walk in the streets any time. To see your money affording many things. To be able to buy better things because they cost just a little bit more than the regular ones. To know that we can have a better future.

In a few years I will look back and see 2019 being remembered as the year of many accomplishments and victories. So for 2020 I just wish for patience, like a newborn to this new life I am full of wants and fearless to live.
